Our Vision—Sandusky County is a place where all individuals and families are healthy in mind, spirit and body, living in a safe, supportive community that provides opportunities for successful learning, working, playing and living.

   
 

WHAT WE DO

The Sandusky County Family and Children First Council (FCFC) provides integration and planning to improve community-based, family centered services and achieve the following desired community results:
• Optimum Health for All
• Children, Adolescents and Adults Prepared to Succeed
• Safe Communities
• Self-Sufficient and Valued Families
• Economic Stability and Prosperity
• Positive and Supportive Living Choices for All Populations

The FCFC works on various projects to strengthen families. Our member organizations provide the following:

Partnerships for Success—A five-year county plan will be developed to promote positive youth development and reduce risk behaviors. Partners include the FCFC, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, Prevention Partnership (Substance Abuse Coalition), and community members throughout Sandusky County.

Wraparound/Service Coordination: A team process for multi need children and their families.

Help Me Grow - Services for Families with children ages 0 –3 – Prenatal visits, Newborn visits, Service coordination and on-going home visits as needed, Early identification of developmental delays and disabilities.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention - Youth asset building approaches designed to reduce the number of teen pregnancies.

Parent Leadership Training Institute—Parents gain leadership skills and become more involved in community life.

No Wrong Door - Bringing people and services together.
