Statistics

The Sandusky County Sanitary Engineer's office operates and maintains two (2) Sewer Districts in the County, which include:

  • 53 miles of sanitary sewer lines
  • 2 miles of potable water lines
  • 2 wastewater treatment plants
  • 1 water treatment plant
  • 10 wastewater pumping stations
  • 3,235 service connections (sewer & water)

The office treated and pumped over 8,228,000 gallons of water, collected and transported over 426,858,000 gallons of wastewater and treated 20,773,000 gallons of wastewater in 2002.

The office employs six (6) employees and utilizes ms consultants, inc., out of Columbus, Ohio as our consultant engineer. A fleet of five (5) light vehicles provides for servicing the facilities with an inventory of over $310,760 of supplies, equipment, and materials.

Our own laboratory performs the required analyses. The analyses ran in our laboratory include: 444 BOD, 552 Suspended Solids, 408 Ammonia, and 4444 Dissolved Oxygen. All of these analyses are performed on the wastewater treatment facilities.

All of our facilities (both wastewater and water) are certified as Class I facilities and the Village of Lindsey, where we provide technical supervision, is certified as a Class II facility in wastewater and a Class I facility in water.
